The dining experience at the colonial homestead restaurant is exceptional!

TSS Earnslaw has just turned 110 years old and there was no better way to celebrate this milestone than by heading out for a cruise with the team on the steamer over to Walter Peak high country farm for dinner. This experience has always been one of my favourite things to do here in Queenstown. I wouldn’t be able to count on 2 hands the amount of times I have been over to Walter Peak to experience many of their wonderful offerings such as high tea, lunch, dinner or a farm show.

You start off with a leisurely scenic cruise across Lake Wakatipu. Whilst on board the TSS Earnslaw you can explore the decks & visit the engine room where you can see the stokers shovelling coal into the fire boxes!

Once you arrive at the farm, dinner is almost ready to be served, the dining experience at the colonial homestead restaurant is exceptional. The buffet style dinner allows you to taste a variety of local produce – salads, vegetables, meats & desserts! On the plus side, you can keep going back for more!

After dinner, you can then experience a farm demonstration where you see the farm dogs at work, a very unique experience. To finish, the Lady of Lake sails you back across the lake, allowing you to see Queenstown from a different perspective.
